We believe in God, the Creator, who knew us as we were formed
and made us in God’s image.
Having numbered the hairs on our heads and
calling us by name, God models the intimacy we seek with others.
We embrace others as family, desiring to offer a
haven from the impersonal, even anonymous nature of daily life.
We believe the Son of God calls us to live in community as the
body of Christ.
Coming from diverse religious backgrounds, we
gather to worship to express the faith that unites us.
We
believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God as revealed to us by
its authors.
In studying the Word, we consider the historical
and cultural contexts in order to discern its meaning for us today.
We believe God speaks to us through the Holy Spirit.
We affirm our identity as Presbyterians yet
respect other Christian and non-Christian traditions.
As we respond to the contemporary issues that
divide us, within and outside our denomination, we seek always to listen
for the small, still voice of the Spirit within ourselves and each
other.
