Christian Education

Children are an important part of the community of Hope.  During worship service and Sunday school, nursery care is provided for infants and toddlers.  As part of our worship service, children ages 3 through 7 come forward to be blessed and then go to the Gathering Room to hear a story and participate in an activity in lieu of the sermon.

Christian Education at Hope begins in preschool and continues through adulthood.  After Sunday morning worship, coffee and refreshments are served in our Gathering Room, providing a time for community fellowship.  Then Christian Education begins for approximately 30-40 minutes.  Adult classes are led by the pastor, church leaders, and community members.  Children preschool through 5th grade use "Deep Blue Curriculum" and go to classrooms for a Bible lesson, crafts, or songs.  Students in grades 6-12 discuss lessons from "Seasons of the Spirit" and meet in the Youth Room, a friendly, relaxed place with couches.

Special Announcement for children preschool through 5th grade:

We believe a biblically based curriculum is important for Children's Sunday School. We chose the Deep Blue Curriculum because the lessons are Bible based.  This program is well organized with many interactive activities to choose from for each lesson.  This allows us the flexibility to adapt lessons to various age groups. A DVD, CD-ROM, Resource Pack, and Reproducible Kids’ Book are included in these resources provide a framework for stimulating questions and thoughtful discussions.

The point of our Christian Education Program is to learn and have fun!!

Special Announcement for Youth 6th grade through 12th grade:

Youth Sunday School begins at 11:00 a.m. Come at 10:00 for our worship service, and then stay for our youth group immediately following the worship service in the newly painted and decorated Youth Group Room, newly painted by our youth and for our youth.

We have chosen the LinC curriculum to begin the year and see how it works for our Youth Sunday School program.

It can be difficult to help teens and tweens to really connect with God enabling them to be able to effectively deal with the realities of their lives.

LinC provides a biblically based resource, With opportunities to help teens and tweens examine relevant faith and life issues using the latest music, movies, news, and current events.

For example, one lesson will be on the topic of “envy” and how our youth can address their feelings of “envy” and “jealousy.”
